Saint John's
What time are the services and how long are they?
The Sunday celebrations (what we call our services) happen at 10.15am. They last between 60 and 90 minutes. We have occasional Sunday evening celebrations- see the website for details
What style of service do you have?
We have a relaxed contemporary style of service. Our focus is to allow God to lead us and speak to us by the Holy Spirit, both in our teaching and in our worship. We use drums and guitars in our worship, and people clap and raise their hands. It’s an expression of our love for the Lord.
Do you have provision for children
Yes –you can read more about this in our Children’s Groups section of the website
Are you part of the Church of England?
Yes. However we do not make great use of liturgy or some of the more formal Anglican traditions. We are also a member of the New Wine network, which is a network of like-minded churches who want to see as many Christians and churches as possible alive with the joy of knowing and worshipping Jesus Christ, and equipped to live out and proclaim his kingdom in the love of God the Father and the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
How do I join the church?
Simply by coming to St John’s and attending our events you become part of our church family. We encourage each person to belong to a small group of church members called a Cell Group to help them have a place to belong at St John’s. Once a year, we create a new Electoral Roll which is the membership list of the church. Details about this are given out at the time on a Sunday.
What’s the best way of getting involved in the church?
Coming to our Sunday celebrations and joining a Cell Group are the best way of being part of the church family and meeting people.
Can I get married or have my child Christened at St John’s Church?
Yes we love to be part of these celebrations. To find out more please ring the church office and we ask you to come along on a Sunday to see the church you’ll be celebrating in.
