St Alban's Choir
History
The St Alban's Choir have performed a series of concerts in St John's Church and St Peter's.
In 2022 they celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and gave a Christmas concert too.
In April 2023 they performed excerpts from Handel's Messiah, and in July they sang a mix of popular classics - old and new.
They held Christmas Concerts in December 2023 and 2024.
In 2024 their April Eastertide Concert featured music relating to Holy Week and Easter.
The evening raised £435 for the Malachi Project in Ilford - an initiative to help the homeless supported by the Salvation Army.
On 9th April 2025, the St Alban's Singers held a A Concert for Springtime.
Music included Mozart’s Ave Verum and Rutter’s For the beauty of the earth. A collection taken to support St Francis Hospice raised £567.
Another concert featured of songs from around the world.
In July 2025 they sang a repertoire of songs to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
The music included the haunting melody Benedictus
by Karl Jenkins from ‘The Armed Man’, and Pie Jesu by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The evening concluded with an audience sing-along of songs from the Two World Wars.

Tuesdays, 7.30 - 9.00 pm.
