Following the Covid lockdown, (2021- 22) we opened our building again and used our Chapel Room as a temporary Pop-Up Shop. Proceeds were used for church funds.

Before the Most Revd & Rt. Honourable Stephen Cottrell became Archbishop of York, he was our Bishop of Chelmsford (2010-2020).
He visited us at St John's on a number of occasions. The Bishop (centre) is pictured here in 2014 with our former vicar (Revd. Jonathon Evens) and former curate (Revd. Santou Beurklian- Carter).
The temperatures in early December 2022 fell below zero. Then we had snow!

During October 2022, visitors to Chelmsford Cathedral experienced an astronaut's view of the world. A huge globe measuring six metres in diameter was hung from the ceiling above the nave. It was created from 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth's surface.
The stunning 'Gaia' artwork provided an opportunity to see the planet in its entirety as it slowly revolved and accompanied by surround- sound music. 'Gaia' had been brought to the city with the support of Essex Council's Climate Action Fund and Anglia Ruskin University.
