Help for Ukraine
A Prayer for Ukraine
God of peace and justice,
we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen

During March and April 2022, our building was used as a Collection Centre for aid to the war-torn country Ukraine. The public were very generous providing many needed items including clothes for adults and children (e.g. coats, jackets, hats, gloves, scarves), blankets, tinned food, soft drinks, bottled water, toiletries, towels, nappies and First Aid kits.
Volunteers sorted donations into labelled boxes and loaded them onto vans. We arranged five collection sessions. A huge and heartfelt thank you go to everyone who have donated and been involved in other ways.
Donations have been safely delivered to the border of Poland with Ukraine, and even into Ukraine itself. We shall continue being in touch with our Sikh friends who organised this enterprise.
This enterprise has ceased until further notice. The poster below no longer applies.
