Centenary

We celebrated our Centenary in 2004. During that year we held a number of special events. These included The Celebration of Marriage in February; a Music Festival in June; a Flower Festival and a Christian Rock Concert in October.

The Flower Festival, held in the Worship Area, had ten major displays depicting each decade from 1904 to 2004.

For our Centenary weekend, our halls and lounge had other displays including an Exhibition of photos and memorabilia showing the life and witness of this church over 100 years.

We had many guests from the past, and visitors came from far and wide to be with us. On Sunday 3rd October 2004 at 10 am the Holy Communion Service was led by Rt. Revd. John Gladwin, Bishop of Chelmsford.

Meljon Concert

In a concert with the Meljon Singers, conducted by Janette Ruocco, they sang a specially written composition by Paul Hart. This was to dedicate our new Stained Glass Window 'The Light of the World', installed in the Worship Area in 2005.           (www.meljon.org.uk)
